Intarcia Therapeutics' cGMP Manufacturing Facility is a maker of state-of-the-art drug delivery systems. The implantable DUROS product one day may revolutionize the treatment for type 2 diabetes, hepatitis C, and obesity. Intarcia currently has several products that have reached stage 2 and stage 3 clinical trials.
Howell Electric has provided security services for Intarcia's three-building Hayward campus for over 11 years; protecting their assets with an integrated security alarm, access control, and video surveillance. The systems consisted of integrating an AMAG access control system with a Homeland Software platform currently operating three buildings and over 80 access points; an ExacqVision video surveillance system with 36 cameras, emergency response system, and security alarm.

- AMAG access control system running on the Homeland Software platform, currently operating across all three buildings of Intarcia's Hayward campus — over 80 access points centrally administered from a single security operations center.
- Enterprise credentialing, visitor management, and real-time door monitoring protecting cGMP manufacturing facilities and clinical-trial assets.
HID iClass Smart Readers
- HID iClass smart-card readers deployed at every access point — encrypted credential exchange, anti-tamper hardware, and seamless integration with the AMAG/Homeland platform.
- Supports multi-factor authentication for sensitive research and manufacturing zones.
ExacqVision Network Video Recorder
- ExacqVision NVR video surveillance system with 36 cameras providing continuous recording, event-based search, and remote monitoring across the campus.
- Integrated with access control for unified event playback and incident response.
Arecont Cameras
- Arecont high-resolution IP cameras delivering crisp, multi-megapixel imagery for perimeter, interior, and critical-asset coverage.
- Designed for low-light and high-traffic areas common to cGMP manufacturing environments.
